Hello, I’m Sally Costen and I am The Clerkenwell Jeweller.
The Clerkenwell Jeweller is named for this vibrant area in the creative heart of London where I live, work and call home.
Clerkenwell has a long association with silversmithing, Hatton Garden and the Goldsmiths’ Centre make this London’s hub for fine jewellery design and production.
Having years of invaluable experience as a graphic designer, I took a leap of faith in 2015 and decided to retrain as a jeweller.
My love of design and fashion leads me to watch, wear and interpret trends; critical to designing pieces that resonate. Taking a keen interest in unique combinations, I mix materials and styles in my work. I find this both invigorates my thinking and leads to unexpected, uncommon designs.
I always endeavour to work with recycled or sustainabily sourced metals and materials and investigate provenece wherever possible. This is getting easier, as an increasing number of suppliers now offer this information.
Of course, there is no compromise in quality, finish or value.
Any leather incorporated in my pieces are off-cuts from a local bag maker. Most sheet silver is Cookson’s Gold 100% recycled ‘Eco-Silver’.
My jewellery is handmade in Clerkenwell.
